ABOUT BEN

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Benjamin Cone III was destined to carry the sound of gospel forward. The son of the late Elder Benjamin Cone, Jr. and Louise Cone, he grew up surrounded by music, ministry, and meaning. He is also the proud father of one extremely talented son, Christian Cone. By Benjamin's early twenties, Benjamin was already shaping choirs and stirring hearts—his passion finding purpose through the Gifts of Grace Youth Mass Choir, where he helped lead more than 100 young voices across central Mississippi. That moment lit the fuse. What started as a gift became a calling—and what began in Jackson has since evolved into a national ministry grounded in soul, skill, and sincerity. Benjamin’s sound is raw worship blended with artistry—faith expressed through rhythm, conviction, and connection.

The Journey and the Legacy
With a pen and voice that have reached around the world, Benjamin Cone III has become one of gospel music’s most respected voices—earning Grammy, Stellar, and Dove Award nominations for his songwriting and production. From winning Best Choir Director in the National Wrigley’s Choir Competition, to founding Worship Ministries, Inc., Benjamin has built a legacy rooted in creativity and excellence. As a member of the world-renowned Mississippi Mass Choir, he’s toured Europe and Africa and written or led chart-topping hits like God Made Me, If I Be Lifted Up, Only One Way Home, and Custom Made. Signed to Malaco Music Group, Benjamin bridges classic gospel soul with forward-thinking sound. His choir, Worship, earned Best Local Community Choir at the Mississippi Gospel Music Awards, with their single The Race hitting R&R’s Gospel Top 40. He’s collaborated with gospel greats—Rev. James Moore, Dorothy Norwood, The Williams Brothers, and producer Stan Jones—cementing his place as both a creative force and a cultural voice.
